Step 1: Create Project

Start by creating an empty AndroidStudio project.

Step 2: Dependencies

In this example several third party dependencies are used, including Glide for loading video screenshots, and exoplayer for playing the videos.

Here are the dependencies:

Step 2: Design Layouts

Two layouts are used in this project, the recyclerview item layout as well as the MainActivity layout.

Next create a media item object to represent a single video. Each of theseobjects will occupy a row in our custom ExoplayerRecyclerView.
