Java Object

Java has an Object class.

It’s defined in the java.lang package and is a member of java.base module.

Modules were introduced in the Java 9.

All classes either directly or indirectly extend the Object class. They are a subclass of of java.lang.Object class.

So this Object is the base class or super class of all classes definable in java.

In our tree hierarchy, the Object class is the at the topmost. Therefore a reference variable of Object class can hold an object of any class in java.
